VIDEO: Police Constable murdered in Welipenna
May 13, 2014A Police Constable (PC) attached to the Aluthgama Police Station has been brutally murdered with a sharp object in the Welipenna area last night.
A clash over a personal dispute had led to the murder, police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said, adding that the police officer was not on duty at the time of the incident.
It has been reported that the constable, 50, was stabbed to death with a sharp object during a party over an argument.

The government has contracted to Sri Lanka Telecom its campaigning and coordination work with Mahanayake Theras and other Buddhist clergy at the next presidential election.
SLT chairman Nimal Welgama has told his media unit to obtain statements supportive of the president from all Maha Nayake Theras under the theme ‘let’s be grateful.’ The SLT has given the responsibility of all related work to the advertising firm that does its advertising.
