Speaker’s woes

Speaker Chamal Rajapaksa is in an enviable position. His job is becoming increasingly difficult; it must be more stressful than running a nursery. On Wednesday, he saw red when some MPs disregarded Standing Orders and talked a blue streak during question time while a minister, true to form, beat about the bush without answering a query posed to him. An irate Speaker even threatened to walk out unless the member fell in line, according to media reports.
