‘Peni Hula’ has invested Rs. 200 m in Salaka casino!

Director general of the Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle, known as ‘Peni Hula’ among his friends, has invested Rs. 200 million on a promissory note in the controversial Salaka Regino casino club owned by Vajira Janaki Nettikumara. He has given the money at the request of his paramour Sudharma Nettikumara. ‘Peni Hula’ has deposited, at several banks in Malaysia, the millions of dollars he had earned by illicit means. In addition, he has bought properties in that country. ‘Peni Hula’ and Sudhama have made plans to flee to Malaysia if there is a change in government.

‘Peni Hula’ was first introduced to Sudharma by Krishani Gunatilake, the wife of the owner of Dannie Brothers, which owns Good Wood Plaza hotel in Katunayake. Sudharma comes to know Shashi Weerawansa also through Krishani. All of them are loan sharks. What Sudharma does is borrows money from various people, but refrains from paying back on the strength of her connection with ‘Peni Hula.’ Both Sudharma and Vajira are committed to the same objective - that is to destroy the Nettikumara family, for which they are being aided by ‘Peni Hula.’

Even the president does not comprehend as to why the defence secretary is so afraid of Lakshman Hulugalle. The president says publicly, ‘Don’t know if this fellow has done a charm on our man’, as whatever wrong ‘Peni Hula’ commits, the defence secretary seems unaware of them. But, well informed sources say that the defence secretary has become a puppet of ‘Peni Hula’ as the former’s personal wealth is invested by the latter.

‘Peni Hula’s other crony is retired captain Nissanka Senadhipathi of Avante Garde security firm. Previously, 10 guards of Avante Garde were deployed at the home of Sudharma to prevent her legal husband Gamini Nettikumara from visiting the premises. Gamini Nettikumara pleaded with the president and got those guards reduced to three. These days, he is being harassed by the guards with the demand that Sudharma be given the divorce, because ‘Peni Hula’ has promised her that he would marry her before the end of this year. However, unconfirmed sources say the two are already married, but have become frightened after their lawyers had advised them about the dangers of bigamy. Now, they are influencing their spouses in order to get divorced.

Kshenuka to succeed external affairs secretary Amunugama!

According to our revelation that the External Affairs Ministry will be restructured following the CHOGM, the ministry’s secretary position is most likely to be changed this week. Incumbent Karunatilake Amunugama is due to be succeeded by deputy secretary Kshenuka Seneviratne.

However, it is Chitranganie Wagiswara, presently high commissioner in Canada, who should be given the top position if seniority is considered. She is due to complete her tenure and return to Sri Lanka at the end of this year, and will retire if not appointed the ministry secretary.

Mr. Amunugama will be posted to the Presidential Secretariat to be in charge of external affairs, or else sent to Canada or India as the high commissioner, ministry sources say.

Sri Lankan ambassador in the US Jaliya Wickramasuriya will be appointed the high commissioner in Canada and Prasad Kariyawasam, presently high commissioner in India, will be posted to Canada, say the sources.

Almost all these appointments are being made on the influence of the ministry’s supervising MP Sajin Vaas Gunawardena. The children of his friends who had been employed at the CHOGM as attendants are expected to be sent to Sri Lankan missions abroad before the year end.
