Land acquired for Colombo Outer Circular H’way Project valued at Rs 9,950 Million

A document tabled in Parliament by the Project Minister of Highways, Ports and Shipping, Nirmala Kotelawala, revealed that the extent of land that had been acquired by the government for the Colombo Outer Circular Highway Development Project was valued at around Rs 9,950 million.
 
According to the document, around 100.35 hectares had been acquired from Kottawa to Kaduwela, and its gross assessed value was Rs 2,200 million.
 
Around 82 hectares had been acquired from Kaduwela to Kadawatha, and its gross assessed value was Rs 2,750 million. For the third phase of the Colombo Outer Circular Highway Development Project, the government had acquired around 80.94 hectares of land, estimated to be worth Rs 5,000 million.
 
The document was tabled in response to a question raised by UNP Colombo District MP, Rosy Senanayake.
 
It was also revealed that the gross value of the land area acquired for the Katunayake Expressway Development Project was around Rs 3,000 million.
