Youth a native of Mandatheevu was assaulted severely by the intelligence unit and was admitted to Jaffna Teaching hospital yesterday by Kayts police.
Tharmaratnam Kandeepan aged 29 years a resident of Mandatheevu, 2nd division was assaulted and was admitted to hospital.
Kandeepan in his statement notified that he was assaulted by the Mandatheevu Navy Intelligence Suthu along with seven persons.
Youth in his statement notified on last 13th, a person had intruded a home in the night hours and attempted to misbehave with the women folks; meanwhile he assaulted him and chased him away.
The runaway again came with seven persons to his house and had assaulted him, said the youth. Attackers had handed over Kandeepan to Kayts police.
Police two days back in the morning had produce the youth to a Legal Medical Officer and he had advised the police to admit the patient to the hospital, but police had admitted only yesterday morning.
Legal Medical Officer Chinnaiya Sivarooban was contacted, and he said, the said person was brought two days back by the Kayts Police. Looking at his condition he had requested the Kayts police to immediately admit him to the hospital.
However, the youth was admitted to the hospital yesterday morning at about 10.30 a.m. At the time he was admitted, he was bleeding from his proboscis.
