Former and current Navy Commander clash over official residence

The former Navy Commander has said that he could continue to occupy the official residence allocated for the Navy Commander since he has been appointed as the President’s advisor for maritime affairs.
However, senior naval officers say the former Navy Commander does not have any legal right to demand such privileges.
It is also learnt that businessman and artist, Somaratne Dissanayake had requested the President to permit his brother, the former Navy Commander to occupy the official residence for another three month period. Meanwhile, current Navy Commander Jayanath Colombage has called on the First Lady to get him the official residence for the Navy Commander.
