This quadruple murder occurred on October 8th . The police constable (51905) Vithanalage Anura Thushara De Mel who shot Bharatha when Duminda Silva ordered to shoot ,was released from Mirihana police by Deshabandu SSP on that day for Duminda’s security. When this shooting took place , Deshabandu was in a Pajero 64 -0940 with tinted glass at the rear of the fleet of Duminda’s vehicles.
According to the latest revelation ,this notorious Deshabandu on October 4th , that is four days prior to the shootout on the 8th, has taken long with him all the police inventory books where records of the Mirihana police weapons and bullets are maintained , as well as the receipt books on the excuse that he is taking them to examine the records. . These inventory and receipt books had been received back by the police only on the 17th of October .
These actions of the notorious Deshabandu , a high ranking law enforcer , infamous though was absolutely illegal .. An SSP can only examine these records during half year inspections or on a sudden visit . Hence he cannot take these books home and keep for a week for his inspection. During that week how is the record keeper going to maintain records of the weapons and bullets.?
PC Anura Thushara is a henchman of Deshabandu. Now the weapon used at the shooting by the PC is being declared as not belonging to the Police. When the shooting took place the police record books of the weapons and bullets were in the possession of this infamous and notorious Deshabandu SSP. There is also evidence to testify that a T56 weapon was put into a pohora (manure)bag illicitly at the Kolonnawa Kande Vihara and was loaded into the vehicle of the Deshabandu SSP. Despite all this overwhelming evidence available to incriminate SSP Deshabandu , why is he not being questioned at all ?
On the 22nd we published an article exposing Deshabandu SSP ‘s involvement in this quadruple murder under the caption “‘famous’ Deshabandu SSP directly involved in Bharatha murder’ – here is the cogent and clear evidence.” It is a sad state of affairs in this country presently , even after our making things easy for the authorities to apprehend culprits via our exposures , no action was initiated . This makes it all the more clear and goes to confirm that Deshabandu is enjoying the patronage and background support of the powers that be in his criminal actions.
