Breaking the Silence Journal: Kings College London

 20 December 2014
Kings College London held its annual 'Breaking the Silence' exhibition on the November 20, to raise awareness among fellow students of the human rights violations and mass atrocities committed against Tamil civilians in Sri Lanka.

The exhibition, located in the university's ‘The Spit’ - a bustling area where students pass en route to the lecture theatres, was run by members of the KCL Tamil Society.

The atrocities, including torture, sexual violence, enforced disappearance, war crimes and genocide, were exhibited through posters, paintings and a visual timeline of key events during the ethnic conflict on the island.

The posters proved to be particularly powerful in highlighting the plight of the Tamil people. Many students who passed by said they were shocked by what they had learnt and surprised that they had not previously heard about the conflict in Sri Lanka.

“As the exhibition came to an end, one of the things we gathered from the day was that, although many students were unaware of the situation in Sri Lanka, they were intrigued and very willing to listen and learn," KCL Campaigns Officer Ashvath Moorthy told Tamil Guardian at the end of the event.

"As a result, KCL Tamil Society have decided to plan more events like this in the near future to continue educating students," he added.

The campaign can be followed on twitter using ‘#BreakTheSilence’.

Sacrosanct SC too turned topsy turvy : Never in legal history in the whole world a SC became this illegal !

LEN logo(Lanka-e-News- 19.Dec.2014, 11.00PM) It is with a sense of rude shock and deep sorrow that we have to reveal this news that the sacrosanct supreme court (SC) of Sri Lanka (SL) was also transformed day before yesterday(17) into an illegal Institution. According to the established laws of the country , the number of judges including the chief justice of the SC cannot exceed eleven in number , and none can be appointed in excess of this number.
Justice Saleem Marsoof of the SC was to retire yesterday (18) as he has reached the retirement age. His 65 th birthday was on the 17 th , that is day before yesterday and was entitled to perform his official duties that day . Besides , as he wished to grace the bench on that day prior to retirement , he performed his judicial duty 17th December.
Meanwhile knowingly or unknowingly , or based on the wanton indifference to laws , appeal court judge Upali Abeyratne better known among the legal circles as ‘pissu poosa’ ( mad cat) took oaths as SC judge 17th before MaRa to replace Saleem Marsoof. It is significant to note that this judge Abeyratne is not only a pissu poosa , but also had another (dis) qualification – a disgraceful lickspittle and lackey of MaRa. Hence , as is the common practice under MaRa’s reign this (dis)qualification stood Abeyratne in good stead , and latter was given priority and preference over two judges above him in seniority in the SC.
In consequence of the characteristic rash and ruffian attitude of MaRa even overriding court traditions and rules , the number of judges yesterday became 12 . In other words the court too was overloaded just like a passenger bus carrying commuters on the footboard, and MaRa’s bulky Parliament of hulking government representatives. Abeyratne who was at the center of this muddle having no choice closed himself inside a room when the other judges came to congratulate him .
Now , the most pertinent question is : can the judgments delivered day before yesterday be valid by a SC that was itself illegal in law ?
AHow and by what means can a SC that is illegal be restored to its legally valid status ?
Since such illegalities in the judicial sphere have not taken place anywhere in the world before , there exists no precedent that can be followed , and because such mad actions are witnessed only in SL under the reign of MaRa , the country that is a ‘miracle in the making’ , based on MaRa’s debacle theory .

The second week after nominations saw stark contrasts developing in the campaigns of the incumbent President and the common opposition candidate. President Rajapaksa, the acclaimed populist of the ordinary people, took to wooing the business community in Colombo that has traditionally been the bulwark and money baggers for the UNP. Last Wednesday, in what was a show and tell Momentum Forum, a so called "synchronized President" addressed a captive audience of 2,000 business leaders assembled in four hotels. The joint opposition response came on Friday in the more substantial and traditional form of a political manifesto. The Manifesto is a reasonably substantial document that can provide an effective platform for a cohesive opposition campaign.

Sri Lanka: SEP presidential candidate addresses Colombo meeting

By our correspondents
20 December 2014
Socialist Equality Party (SEP) presidential candidate Pani Wijesiriwardena, a member of the SEP political committee and retired teacher with an almost four-decade record of fighting for the working class, outlined the party’s election program last week at a public meeting. Held on December 12 in Maharagama, about 15 kilometres from Colombo, it was the first in a series of SEP and IYSSE meetings for the January 8 presidential election.

Preparations under way by CJ and group to smear the judges fraternity at annual convention

LEN logo(Lanka-e-News -20.Dec.2014, 11.30PM) Mohan Peiris ,the chief justice better known as ‘cheat justice ‘, along with a group of judges of the judicial service commission (JSC) are getting ready to use the annual judges convention to make the judges fraternity of the judicial service to stoop to the lowliest of levels most disgracefully to do the sordid biddings of the Rajapakse regime including sniffing their stinking loin cloths.
The annual convention of judges is scheduled for 22 nd -23 rd December at the Kingsbury hotel (Intercontinental hotel earlier), Balmoral Hall. On the first day , that is the 22 nd , at 9.15 a.m. Medamulana MaRa is to address this meeting . This is something that has never ever happened in the judicial and Sri Lanka ‘s history.
In the whole judicial history , the annual convention was addressed by the intelligentsia . Intellectuals spoke on the subjects they are specialized . Never was a state administrator or a politico invited. In any country where the independence of the judges and the judiciary are revered , such subversive trends are not encouraged as they are the most dangerous to a sacrosanct judiciary.
The most despicable and reprehensible part of this scenario is : while the Presidential election has been fixed , Mahinda Rajapakse the Presidential candidate is being invited to deliver the keynote address at the judges convention , which in other words is to create a climate for him to exploit the occasion to make it a political platform for his election propaganda .
On top of this action aimed at subverting the hallowed judicial norms, the Central bank governor Ajith Nivad Cabraal too has been invited to address the convention on the 22 nd at 10.30 p.m. If inviting Medamulana Mara is bad , Ajith Nivad Cabraal being invited is worse, for the latter has two cases pending in the Supreme curt (SC) in which he is the accused.
Moreover , this same Central bank governor before he secured that appointment was an accused against whom a verdict was delivered by court that he was guilty of exchange fraud in the Pyramid Organization corrupt deals. So, this is present SL , where a fraudster out and out is invited to address a judges convention, and the judges cannot but listen to him !
This convention is held every year and it is with the contributions of the judges .This is because if judges receive donations from other Institutions the judges become subservient to the latter , and that would be pernicious to an independent judiciary.
Hence , the conventions in the previous years were held on a modest scale . However this year, the expenditure towards this convention is about Rs. 10 million ! Based on reports reaching Lanka e news inside information division , the cost of meals alone at Kingsbury hotel is Rs. 5 million . In addition the sum paid to Kevin Nugera who is providing entertainment and dance recitals is Rs. 2 million whereas for a performance like this of Kevin Nugera usually his charges are Rs. 500,000.00, whereas these wonderful judges on the other hand have paid Rs. 2 million . This disbursement has been made by the Bar Association , and the relevant payment voucher is available.
The most comic part of this crazy tamasha is , the bar association that is disbursing Rs. 2 million for this convention towards which nearly Rs. 10 million is being expended , has in its account only Rs. 125,000/- ! How come then , the association with such limited funds , able to hold a convention costing Rs. 10 million?
In the circumstances, can anybody say , the judges have not collected this large sum via bribes ? What is the guarantee that these judges will not have strong motives to give judgments tomorrow in favor of these individuals who spent so much on behalf of their convention ?
No matter what , even a kindergarten class child knows that a majority of judges appointed under this regime are stooges and sycophants of the Rajapakse family. People too know that the judges are bribe takers , and it is their strong conviction that these judges can be bribed to change court verdicts .
It is true in every profession there are honorable and dishonorable members although it is fools who make all professions dishonorable and disgraceful . But the sanctity and honor of a profession can be safeguarded only by a professional , and not by outsiders .
If a majority of these judges have a backbone and a sense of shame , they can take a decision in regard to their own honor and self respect , regardless of others .If they don’t, the public who addressed them as ‘your honor’ hitherto , addressing them as ‘you scoundrel’ henceforth will be unavoidable. On the 22 nd , it will be possible for everyone to see , how these judges are going to conduct themselves : Are the SL judges fraternity in general going to smear themselves with their own excreta merely to please a few stooges of the fraternity who are most disdainfully insulting the judicial profession by serving the agendas of the outside powers that be, and dancing attendance on them ?

Maithri’s Manifesto Launched: It Is For Provider Government With A Vision

Colombo Telegraph
By Hema Senanayake –December 20, 2014
Hema Senanayake
Hema Senanayake
The government could be an economic facilitator or provider. Economists usually prefer to have a facilitator government due to a fundamental reason which is linked to an efficiency factor. However, what Maithri has promised us is a “Provider” government at least in the first 100 days, but it has a vision. That would be a better beginning in view of the economic difficulties faced by wage earners and businesses of all categories except a few. But a gradual transition to a more facilitating role would be a must in order to ensure a vibrant and dynamic economy.
Maithripala Matale 19 12 2014

The manifesto published in the language of Sinhala is an interesting document. In the document there are 100 promises which are to be implemented within the first 100 days. For example, the very first proposal is to increase salaries of government employees by Rs. 10,000/= per month and half of it would be paid with the February salary. Once all adjustments are done the balance Rs. 5000/= would be paid with due arrears.Read More

The Minority Vote

By Izeth Hussain-December 19, 2014,
The cure for the ills of democracy is more democracy – H.L. Mencken

article_imageMy confident expectation before the Uva PC elections was that the UPFA would have a ‘torrid time’, and so it turned out. My confident expectation thereafter was that at the next round of elections the President and the UPFA would be soundly, and deservedly, trounced. The obvious reasons for that expectation are as follows. First of all there is the factor of longevity: in the contemporary world, though not in traditional societies, people want change; combining economic development with equity seems to be practically impossible under the capitalist system so that a substantial proportion of the electorate can be expected to vote against the UPFA; the dictatorial drive has roused deep anxieties about the recurrence of another doom-laden 1989 if the UPFA continues in power; and the thorough alienation of the minorities should mean that the greater part of 25% of the electorate would vote against the UPFA. On those grounds, it seemed to me, that a sound resounding trouncing of the President and thereafter of the UPFA candidates at General Elections had to be expected.

But of course that expectation could be belied by untoward occurrences. After 1956 our politics have increasingly become politics as ‘organized hatred’, which had to be expected as increasingly in our politics interests have predominated without any ideals and principles worth talking about. Therefore practically anything can be expected, not excluding even the assassinations of key candidates to queer electoral outcomes. However, at the moment what is worrying for opponents of the UPFA is that the two most important parties representing the Tamils and the Muslims, namely the TNA and the SLMC, are sitting on the fence. It might turn out therefore that the minorities will not be voting massively against the President and the UPFA, who consequently may be able to scrape through.

I will first make some observations about the TNA before dealing with the SLMC. Both are minority parties but the dilemmas they face are significantly different. No one in his right mind can imagine even for an instant that the TNA can be supportive of the President and the UPFA. The latter are against the full implementation of 13A, and they seem to be bent on making it largely inoperative even in its truncated form. If they continue in power there will be no political solution on the basis of 13A. Instead the Tamils will continue to be treated as a conquered people who are at the mercy of the Sinhalese conqueror. Some will think that I am being excessive in this critique, but that is beside the point. What is to the point is that there can be no question of the TNA supporting the President and the UPFA at the next round of elections and the important question that arises concerns the options that are open to the TNA.

It could put up its own candidate for the Presidency, but for obvious reasons that need not be spelt out that would be tantamount to ensuring an election victory for the incumbent President. It could opt to support the Opposition but that would make no sense for at least two reasons. One is that if the TNA comes to an agreement with the Opposition on 13A and on every matter that is of vital interest to the Tamils, we can be certain – in keeping with practice hallowed over several decades – that the new government will renege on every commitment without the slightest moral scruple. The other reason is that the present government will start howling that the TNA-Opposition agreement shows that there is a secret understanding – backed by the Western powers – about setting up Eelam. That has to be expected because of the savage stupidity that is at the core of our politics these days. The ugly fact is that TNA support for the Opposition could turn out to be a lethal embrace. A further option for the TNA is to keep quiet, to choose neither side, leaving it to the Tamil voter to decide how to vote. But, that could mean mass Tamil abstentions resulting – as in 2005 – in victory for the incumbent President.

I suggest that there is one way out of the dilemma facing the TNA and the Tamils: to vote for the Opposition because it stands for democracy which is the essential prerequisite for solving the Tamil ethnic problem. There are two ways in which a political solution for the Tamils can be reached. One is through an understanding between the Government, the TNA and other Parties representing the Tamils, and the Indian government about the implementation of 13A. Such an agreement would be inconceivable with President Rajapakse and the UPFA government, but it might be possible with a new government. The other is through an incremental organic process whereby the Tamils come to be seen as having fair and equal treatment, and that would be possible only through a fully functioning democracy. The crucial point is this: even agreement on devolution going beyond 13A would amount to nothing in the absence of a fully functioning democracy to ensure its application. A new government could conceivably move towards a fully functioning democracy whereas President Rajapaksa and the UPFA can only be expected to continue even more fiercely their racist neo-Fascist drive. There is therefore a sound case for the TNA to support the Opposition on the ground of democracy alone without bothering about 13A for the time being.

As for the Muslim vote, I will limit myself here to making just one essential clarification. The SLMC leader Rauf Hakeem is seen as sitting on the fence, which is taken as typifying the self-seeking, unscrupulous, unprincipled behaviour of Muslim politicians as a whole. Our veteran Muslim journalist, Latheef Farouk, has recently written a splendidly eloquent denunciation of such Muslim politicians. I myself have done so in the past, making the point that the typical Muslim politician is not the representative of the Muslims to the government but of the government to the Muslims, and I have even argued, quite seriously, that the Muslims would be better off represented by Sinhalese politicians.

But the times they are a-changing, and some Muslim politicians have been courageously outspoken over the anti-Muslim campaign though most of them evidently continue to believe that the best way of serving Muslim interests is by polishing the boot of Sinhalese power. Azath Sally spoke out some time ago and was jailed though only briefly; the message being that the next time the punishment could be much more drastic, possibly even fatal. But others also spoke out, notably Rauf Hakeem and Rishard Bathiudeen. The latter has opted to stay with the Government while RH might still do so. What is the explanation? I believe that it arises from the fact that there are no ideals and principles worth talking about in our politics; there are only interests, and the only legitimate question is whether or not those interests are legitimate. The crux of the matter is that it is the Government of the day that is best situated to satisfy those interests. The Muslim politicians who continue to side with the Government evidently believe that it will scrape through at the elections, and therefore the best interests of the Muslims, not just their personal interests, require that they continue to support it.

However, we can draw an important lesson from the Uva PC elections. The Muslims voted heavily against the UPFA, showing that they will not submit to dictation by their politicians. It has to be expected therefore that at the forthcoming Presidential and Parliamentary elections the Muslims will go along with the Sinhalese and Tamils who are working towards a better Sri Lanka based on a fully functioning democracy.

Sri Lanka: SLMC- Liability On The

Muslim Community

Time to dissolve and stop claiming to represent Muslims

| by Latheef Farook
( December 20, 2014, Colombo, Sri Lanka Guardian) Muslims are a deeply wounded community today. They are ignored by successive governments, betrayed by their own politicians and exploited by all to suit their agendas. The selfish politics of the main Muslim political party Sri Lanka Muslim Congress, SLMC, and it are more than half a dozen splinter groups have brought nothing but disaster.

Residents From Low-Income Housing Projects Threatened To Vote For MR

Colombo Telegraph
December 20, 2014
In a desperate attempt to secure the declining voter base, residents of low-income housing projects in Colombo have been threatened into voting for President Rajapaksa.
Gotabaya
Gotabaya Rajapaksa -Secretary to Ministry of Defence and Urban Development
Colombo Telegraph learns that military personnel have been visiting the homes in low income housing projects for the past few weeks, and threatening the residents into voting for Mahinda Rajapaksa. The residents had been told the ‘authorities’ possess the names, personal details and polling card numbers of all the residents and that their votes will be monitored. They had been informed further that if the ‘authorities’ find out that their votes have been cast to any other candidate except MR, they would have to suffer grave repercussions.
It has also been revealed that residents of Tamil ethnicity have been particularly targeted through this intimidation campaign and told that they would be removed from Colombo if they do not support MR.
This intimidation campaign resonates with a remark made by the eldest Rajapaksa ‘prince’ during a rally where he claimed that those from low-income housing projects who vote for any other candidate except his father, should be thrown out of their homes.
“I told the President that these people should be relocated somewhere else if they don’t vote for us . . . they can’t be voting for someone else when it is we who have built their houses. . .” he says during a rally, conveniently forgetting that it is not the personal funds of the Rajapaksas that funded the construction but tax payers’ money.

EC: A toothless tiger?

2014-12-20

An independent national daily quoting Elections Commissioner (EC) Mahinda Deshapriya said yesterday, that he had issued a directive to Heads of State institutions that, at no instance could stateresources, much less, public servants be utilized forelectioneering.
However, the exemption in using State resources, in
particular State premises for polls work was, if those premises were hired. He made these remarks in the context that the presidential poll is to take place barely three weeks from now, that is on 8 January.

Nevertheless, the question is, whether the EC has the clout to implement his directives, or is he merely a proverbial toothless tiger?
The tragicomedy is that simultaneous to the EC's request, published in a so called independent national daily, a State daily on the same day, published a statement made by the Chief Executive of a ministry, saying that the current 'peace' in the country, is because of the President.

The incumbent president is also seeking a 3rd term at the 8 January poll.
In a blatant disregard to his directive and openly canvassing for the incumbent President, this ministry CEO said that the incumbent's first term was devoted to the eradication of terrorism, second term for the consolidation of peace, whilst implying that his third term would be for development.

Now, what power does the EC have, to prosecute such a state offender, paid for by State funds, to see that such an offender is prosecuted for abusing election law?
If he has the power, will he take on such an offender? These are the questions that the EC and the Government of Sri Lanka, who and which are maintained by state funds, should answer to the public.
It's not only an independent EC that the country needs, it's because he is 'independent' he makes such 'vociferous' public pronouncements, directing that State resources and officials shouldn't be used for electioneering, but such 'independence' should be complimented with power, to rein in and prosecute such abuse and abusers.
This is where the importance of the now defunct 17th Amendment (17A), if it was still in force, would, or may have had come to play, to check such abuse.

17A, which, if it was to have had been effective, seemingly guaranteed the independence of the EC and the police, among a host of other key bodies, but the rub was that such appointments had to be made with the concurrence of the president, which paralysed the effective working of this amendment, due to the executive's non cooperation.
The anticlimax was the abolishment of the 17A four years ago and vesting supreme power on the executive to make such appointments, by the substitution of 17A with 18A.

Such blatant abuse of State resources and State officials on the eve of the election is visible and is done openly.
Yesterday, this newspaper received at least one invitation for the coverage of an event, where, election goodies were being offered to the indigent, in blatant violation of polls law, but openly proclaimed in the invitation, though it didn't spell it out that those were election goodies.

But anyone with even an iota of intelligence may guess the purpose for such offerings.
In this connection, yesterday the Cooperatives Ministry asked for a coverage of a carol service, interspersed with distributing school-requirements and equipment (polls goodies) to 250 indigent children at the Ministry premises.

The public being concerned, would like to know what action the EC would take against this Ministry for the breaking of this polls law?
Is the Ministry paying itself for the use of its Ministry premises for non ministry work on the eve of a key
National election? If it's doing so, are such debits and credits within one and the same State institution permissible by law?
"Caesar's wife must be above suspicion."
And whose money is being used to give goodies to these children? Is it private or State funds?
There was a practise that was in force, at least under the now defunct Westminster style of government, that is in Sri Lanka's 1st constitution, post independence, where at least a few weeks before a general election (there was no executive presidency then), Parliament used or had to be dissolved by law.

It was only the Cabinet which was functional, till the end of that poll. Also, at that time, cabinets were small, comprising not more than 20 ministers. Currently, the Cabinet comprises three times that number! Such checks and balances minimized State abuse.
There, however, is no dissolution of governments, under the present, 2nd Republican Constitution, prior to a key election, such as a general election or a Presidential Poll.
It's up to the masses, whether they are happy with the continuation of such abuse or not.

Sri Lanka opposition vows to withdraw casino tax breaks

Sri Lanka's main opposition said Friday it would withdraw generous tax concessions for controversial foreign-funded resorts aiming to make Colombo a gambling hotspot in South Asia if it wins next month's elections.
President Mahinda Rajapakse's government is facing an unexpectedly tough challenge in the national elections from Maithripala Sirisena, who has united opposition forces.
In his manifesto unveiled Friday, Sirisena said the special tax status granted to three planned casino resorts would be withdrawn -- a promise that targets the Buddhist vote bank in an attempt to erode Rajapakse's rural support base.

"I will withdraw the concessions given to the casino projects," he said in his manifesto which also vowed to launch a major offensive against narcotics.
Sri Lanka's influential Buddhist clergy had opposed allowing three casino resorts, including one with investments from Australia's gambling mogul James Packer.
But Colombo gave them tax holidays in December 2013.
Then in April, the government said they will not issue casino licences to the three mega resorts, yet made it clear that existing local gambling operations could move into them.
The palm-fringed island nation legalised casinos in December 2010, but the legislation has never been implemented.
Tourism suffered during the decades-long combat with separatist Tamil Tiger rebels. But with the end of fighting in 2009, the hospitality trade has grown steadily and the authorities had banked on casinos to lift the industry.
None of the proposed gambling resorts have opened in Colombo yet, but several local casinos have been in operation for decades, exploiting legal loopholes.
Packer's proposed 450-room Crown Sri Lanka resort -- which once promised on its website to offer "world-class gaming facilities" -- is yet to begin construction.
The other two resorts are a $650-million development from local conglomerate John Keells Holdings and a $300-million project by local businessman Dhammika Perera.
The country's main party of Buddhist monks is backing Sirisena who defected from the government last month to challenge Rajapakse at the January 8 presidential election.
Rajapakse was expected to glide easily to a third term. But Sirisena, who served as health minister in his cabinet, is proving to be a tough opponent.

‘Toilet beauty’ places Wimal in difficulties!

cnews-photoA beauty working in the lankacnews website, notoriously known as ‘Wimal Weerawansa’s toilet’, has intentionally placed Wimal Weerawansa in difficulties, say sources at the website.
A female worker at this website (we won’t use writer or journalist, which they are not), under the pseudonym ‘Shyamal Weeratunga’ had published a mean and malicious article on December 17 connecting acclaimed artiste Parakrama Niriella, acclaimed writer Anoma Rajakaruna and popular actress Samanali Fonseka. Instead of using the names of her own and that of Wimal Weerawansa both of whom had gone on a trip to Bangkok and were caught by Weerawansa’s wife, the woman had replaced the names with Parakrama, Anoma and Samanali.
When ‘Purawesi Balaya’ threatened, through alternative media, to file legal action personally against Wimal Weerawansa’s toilet of a website and the person ‘Shyamal Weeratunga’, for having published such a false and malicious article, the toilet group got alarmed and removed the article in question. Copies of the article were obtained before its removal, and groups of lawyers are taking proper action.
Getting to know about this, members of this toilet of a website are gunning for each other and revealed to several media institutions the identity of the woman who had written the article. That has made the lawyers’ task much easier.
Although Weerawansa publicly says senior journalist Dharma Sri Kariyawasam is the editor of this toilet of a website, he has no connection whatsoever to this website, say sources close to him. It is well known that using his name, a group of Wimal’s henchmen and female workers of his harem are running this website.

LeN reports proved true yet again ! 2 claymore mines discovered –Rajapakses’ first phase using LTTE label to launch attacks

LEN logo(Lanka-e-News -20.Dec.2014, 11.30PM) Two claymore mines that were used by the LTTE were found in Bomunuwa cemetery , Debahara division , Nittambuwa on the 18 th and had been defused by the STF, reports say. This discovery was made by a resident who went to the cemetery to graze his cows.
These claymore mines however were not meant for explosion. May we recall that Lanka e news had already exposed this maneuvers about the Rajapakse regime in its earlier report under the caption ‘Rajapakse regime facing imminent defeat seeks solutions via murders and blame on LTTE,’ on 2 nd December , revealing the government conspiracies to blame the LTTE for its crimes, and it is a former LTTE member Nilupan Sedthiran who is being used for this by the Rajapkses(http://54.86.146.54/news/161)
It has come to light that these two claymore mines discovered have been planted by the Presidential security division (PSD) , and a further 7 claymore mines that were taken from the LTTE (no longer extant) are to be planted similarly in various areas to create a fear psychosis among the people that they are of the LTTE which are now being detected .
It is the diabolic plan and plot of regime by these maneuvers to create an LTTE fear among the minds of the people , and after the 28 th of December to create a huge bomb explosion purportedly caused by the LTTE in order to win the sympathy of the people . Two methods are to be adopted to achieve this cold calculated foulest murderous design :
First :
To show that the bomb explosion targeted Mahinda’s rally , and that Mahinda narrowly escaped at the rally he was participating ,in order to evoke the sympathy of the people. This has been planned on the same lines as the actual bomb incident involving the LTTE suicide bomber at Chandrika ‘s election campaign when she was seeking re election as President for the second time. On that occasion , Chandrika lost one of her eyes. However this orchestrated bomb explosion was to be carried out in a manner that no harm befalls Mahinda (innocents dying regardless).
Second:
To organize a massive rally or demonstration using a group of monks who are pro government , explode a bomb in their midst killing a large number of monks, and publicize widely that the LTTE had caused this bomb explosion . Of course when the LTTE were in existence these explosions did occur , but now when Prabhakaran and the LTTE are annihilated, it is the plan of the regime to cause these explosions using the bombs of the LTTE which were seized by the forces ,and are now in their custody. Through these criminal acts it is the aim of the regime to make it known to the world that the opposition had conspired with the diaspora , and have caused these explosions. Based on these charges , the front liners of the election campaigners of Maithri are to be arrested .
Part of this same plan is , even as these melodramatic criminal activities are taking place , obstruct the social media network of Sri Lanka , while using the state media Institutions and its coolies who are ever ready to stoop to any sordid level , and publicize all the mendacious reports regarding the incidents to suit the regime’s deadly despicable agendas and ends.
Might we mention ,these diabolic murderous plots and plans of Gotabaya Rajapakse jointly with Kapila Hendawitharne were revealed by Lanka e news well ahead in its earlier reports .
In the circumstances , it is the duty of the people and those whose legitimate duty is to safeguard the nation ,to act against these murderers with criminal intent who are hell bent on perpetuating their evil absolute power that has already corrupted them absolutely .
( Meanwhile , we are in receipt of reports that it is the Rajapakses themselves who planned the attack that was launched on Gotabaya Rajapkase at Pitthala junction. With the defeat of Mahinda Rajapakse becoming increasingly clear day after day as the Presidential election is getting closer , Rajapakses are seeking desperate remedies in their death throe . The regime is publishing all kind of news canards to cover up its crimes , corruption, traitorous activities and avert the sure defeat writ on the wall . We , on the other hand shall as far as possible reveal the truth and true picture in the best interests of the nation and the country ,after evaluating the facts based on true evidence etc. at this crucial juncture despite all the odds arrayed against us. )
